Connaught Water – 48

An early morning walk in Epping Forest took us to Connaught Water, a large stretch of water near Chingford.

Not great light, but thankfully the rain held off. The second image is of some tree branches close to the water – a 25 second exposure taken with a ‘big stopper’ filter to give the water that soft, creamy look.

EPPING FOREST WALK – 43

A walk through Epping Forest this morning just after a short rain shower.

The forest had everything – colour, sunshine, bright red fungi, old trees with nooks and crannies and the blazing oranges of autumnal ferns.

All images taken on the Olympus EM-1 with a 45 – 150mm lens. I travelled very light.

Is there a better way to spend an autumn morning?

A STRIPED OAK BUG

Seen in Epping Forest and captured using the Olympus EM-1, a 60mm macro lens and off-camera flash – a new development for me : a skill I am trying to improve upon!
Not the crispest macro shot I have taken, but it was hand held – and the little blighter was in an awkward position in amongst the leaves of a stinging-nettle!

A Visit to Epping Forest

With some ‘photography’ friends, we spent the morning roaming parts of Epping Forest.
Against the odds the sun shone for a couple of hours before deserting us – but the morning was rewarded with the discovery of some amazing fungi!

… and, of course, some amazing Autumn colours!
