Spitfire at North Weald

After photographing bluebells in Blakes Wood, Danbury we went to The Squadron at North Weald Airfield for food ( recommended! ),… and were lucky enough to capture this Spitfire on its way out!

Taken on my Olympus EM-1 with a 300mm Pro lens, hand held.

  1. Flying with the canopy open? I thought Spitfire pilots only did that when they were posing for the cameras or, as in Douglas Bader’s case, smoking a pipe.
