Yesterday we visited Swallow Falls near Betws y Coed.
These images are straight from the Olympus EM-1 with only minor tweaks and cropping in Lightroom.
The portrait shot was a 1/2 second exposure; the landscape, 50 seconds with a ‘big-stopper’ neutral density filter.
My disaster of the day was when one leg of my tripod decided it wouldn’t ‘lock’ in the extended position.
I was left, effectively, with a two legged tripod. As useless as custard in a collander!!

We are in North Wales at the moment. This is the much photographed South Stack Lighthouse, close to Holyhead on Anglesey. Yesterday evening we were lucky enough to get this sky behind the lighthouse.
Three RAW images taken on the Olympus EM-1 and mergeed into a panorama in Lightroom CC. No Photoshop here, all adjustments to the image were in Lightroom.
Photographed on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning, on an early visit to Brighton.
The old pier is still standing, magnificent as ever, and just asking to be photographed.
If you can – go and do it!
