Oyster Shell

This Oyster (?) shell was picked up from the beach at West Mersea ( on the Essex coast ).

I tried taking a straight shot of it, but the 70mm macro lens I used on the D800 gave me a very narrow depth of field, even at f/16.
So this version is focus-stacked – 22 slices taken of the image and then merged together in Photoshop to give an image of the shell in focus from back to front!

    • I’m pleased that you like it! And I particularly like the contrast between the lines and textures of the shell and the smoothness of the silk-like material.
      Once again – thanks! 🙂
