Double Collision

Believe it or not, this is a double water droplet collision – two falling droplets colliding with the ‘stem’ that has risen from the water at the base of the image.

The first collision has created the wide brim that covers most of the width of the shot – but the second, more rarely seen, collision – has created that small ‘crowm’ or ‘coronet’ in the centre of the brim at the top of the stem.
